Grzegorz Lalek
Grzegorz Lalek was born 1975 in Warsaw. Graduated from Warsaw Academy of Music - violin class Prof. Sławomir Tomasik. In 1997 he took part in the” Tadeusz Wroński International Competition for Solo Violin” and received a distinction. In the following year - another distinction as a member of the string quartett in the” K. Bacewicz International Chamber Esemble Competition. “. He perfected his musical skills by taking part in mastercourses leaded by Simon Standage and Anton Steck. In 2002 he recorded Marian Sawa’s piece “Largo” for violin and organ , and in 2004 a CD devoted to Josef Gabriel Rheinberger’s chamber output. As a chamber violinist he is participant in couple of groups (Xerxes String Quintett, Quadrat Quaertett) being actively present on the musical market. He is also a member and co-founder of “Tangata Quintett”. The group released two CD’s with Astor Piazzolla’s music (2004), and with polish tangos(2005).
He plays baroque violin as well. As a baroque violinist performs frequently with leading polish baroque orchestras : Musicae Antiquae Collegium Varsoviense, Concerto Polacco, “Orkiestra I Rzeczypospolitej”, Il Tempo, Kleine Cammer-Musique.
